Chris_Harmaty_web Chris Harmaty principal Technical Structures, leading NYC based contractor specializing in recording studios, broadcast, commercial production/post-production facilities and a wide range of acoustically demanding environments. Mr. Harmaty studied engineering and architecture at Queensborough Community College in New York. He began his career in loft construction in Soho & Tribeca in 1979, and formed Technical Structures in 1984 specializing in audio & video studios. His firm has built more than 80 studios including rooms for such artists as: Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Jodeci, Heavy D, Jim Jones, Erick Morillo and Savion Glover. He has also worked on projects for the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, and NY’s WBLS Radio station.
